RadarScope, a specialized utility for meteorologists and weather enthusiasts, allows you to view NEXRAD Level 3 or Super-Resolution radar data, as well as Tornado, Severe thunderstorm, Flash Flood, Special Marine Warnings and forecast storm tracks from the U.S. National Weather Service. It displays the most recent reflectivity, velocity and dual-polarization data from all NEXRAD and TDWR radar sites in the United States, Guam and Puerto Rico, Korea and Okinawa. Also, it can display data from Environment Canada radars and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology radars. These images are not smoothed; they are native radar data rendered in their original radial format to provide high levels of detail.
RadarScope allows you to see accurate weather radar data, whether you are scanning reflectivity for a mesocyclone’s tell-tale hook echo or trying to pinpoint the landfall location of a hurricane’s eye wall.
RadarScope shows tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. It also displays flash floods and marine warnings that are unique to the U.S. National Weather Service. You can view the active alerts list, click on an alarm to see more details and zoom in on the fixed warning map.
To zoom in or out, pinch or stretch your finger. Scroll by dragging your finger across the map. To switch between radars, tap the radar sweep button located in the toolbar. Choose from one of 289 radars located in the United States, Canada and Australia, Korea, Puerto Rico or Guam. Tap the location button to plot your current location and optionally report it to Spotter Network. To download and animate over images, tap the play button. Zoom in on the map to see the names of more than 25,000 towns and cities. Scroll down and zoom in. To see the data values, tap and hold the color legend.
RadarScope will continue to retrieve and display the latest data intelligently and automatically (approximately every two to ten minutes depending on the radar scan strategy).
Display data from NOAA’s public accessibility website, our optional WDT Feed (the default) or your AllisonHouse subscription account. Spotter Network members have the ability to report their location and see the locations of others.
Display radar data can be accessed from our servers, NOAA’s public access website or your Allison House subscriber accounts. Spotter Network members have the ability to report their location and see the locations of others.
RadarScope Pro, an optional auto-renewing subscription, has two tiers.
RadarScope Pro Tier 1 is an annual subscription. It provides real-time lightning data in Canada and the U.S., and up to 30 frames per year of radar data. This data animates with the radar loop. Subscribers in Tier One can access a data interrogation tool that quickly determines data values for specific radar pixels. There is also an optional dual-pane mode to view two radar products side by side.
RadarScope Pro Tier 2 is an annual or monthly subscription. It combines all of the features from Tier One with more advanced features such as SPC outlooks and local storm reports, hail-size and probability contours, azimuthal shear contours for the U.S., and a 30-day archive all radar products.
The RadarScope Pro subscription will be charged to you Google Play account. Subscriptions automatically renew and are charged at the start of each period. After purchase, subscriptions can be managed and auto-renewal may be disabled through your Google Play App.
RadarScope Android also includes RadarScope Wear OS devices.
